Forcella meets Amal, emotional meeting with Giovanni Durante

Today the little big one Charity, a 3 meter tall Syrian puppet, was welcomed by the community of Fork to share the pains of refugees and the right of all the children of the world to happiness.

The Walk is the name given to the international initiative, produced by Stephen Daldry, director of the film Billy Elliot. In Italy the travelling festival between twelve cities was produced by Roberto Roberto and Ludovica Tinghi.

Among the cities chosen there is Naples and among the Neapolitan locations Forcella, thanks to the participation of the theatre Trianon Viviani and the artistic direction of Davide Iodice, who proposed “DISARMING HOPE”, symbolized by a large hand holding a gun, which is disarmed by putting a pencil in its place.

To the rhythm of the Scalzabanda and with the notes of the small orchestra of Forcella, Amal arrived in front of the Annalisa Durante Library and found Annalisa's father, Giannino, who gave her Annalisa's book with the words of the innocent little victim of the Camorra taken from the books "Il Diario di Annalisa" and "Ali Spezzate".

“Forcella is a complex neighborhood – the director commented Davide Iodice – where good and evil are, like the branches of the “Y” of its coat of arms, in a relationship of contiguity in which choosing is a complex thing and guilt is an abstract concept: here you can die little more than children like Annalisa, very young like Maikol; here you can fall as innocent victims or end your life too soon like Emanuele and so many others, for the wrong turn at that fork, at that crossroads of existence.

Interpreting Amal as a magical trigger for a social ritual of the territories, we launched together with Amal a declaration of war on all wars: all together, with a liberating gesture, we destroyed, giving it a new meaning, a large sculpture depicting a weapon, created by the young talents of the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples of the schools of Scenography and Sculpture.

The sculpture will remain as a permanent work in the square in front of the theater, so that the position that civil society must assume is unmistakable, to guarantee in Naples, as in the world, a future full of life and not death to the young generations. We promise this future, with the childlike strength of a disarming hope”.
