The “Music journalism forum“, in Faenza, within the Mei.
The Forum, now in its sixth edition and directed by Enrico Deregibus, brings together journalists and critics of different origins and ages, who meet once a year to compare notes with each other and with other figures from the music world.
The meetings will take place in the Faenza city council hall.
For the first day, which will start at 14.30 pm, the AGIMP assembly is confirmed, theAssociation of Italian Music Journalists and Critics linked to popular languages, born from an idea launched in 2016 during the Forum.
Also scheduled at the Forum is the presentation of RadUni, the network that brings together the many Italian college radios, with Enrico Schleifer, the network's music director, and of "With-Text”, the first edition of a contest for the selection of essays with musical content, promoted by Editrice Zona.
Following this there will be space for the awards ceremony of the “Mei Musicletter plaque”, the national award for music journalism on the web, conceived and organized by Luca D'Ambrosio (Musicletter.it).
They will be rewarded "Humans vs Robots” as Best Website and “Funky Waves” by Paola Gallo as Best Personal Blog. The special prize, this year awarded to the “Best social initiative in support of music and entertainment”, will go to the association “Trunks in the Square – We Make Events Italia”. All events are free to attend.
Sunday October 3 from 9.30, in collaboration with the weekly “The small“, there will be space for a seminar that will touch on various themes linked to today's and historical music: “ItPop: Who, Where, How and When” (with Giuditta Avellina); “The independent scene in Romagna today” (with Giulia Rossi); “Francesco De Gregori: the history of his songs” (with Enrico Deregibus and Giuseppe Catani); “Women in International and Italian Folk” (with Chiara Ferrari and Michele Manzotti), “The Circus Woman”, the first Italian feminist album (with Suz – Susanna La Polla De Giovanni and Una – Marzia Stano). This is a course accredited as “continuing professional training” for members of the Order of Journalists (who must register on the Sigef platform), but also open to non-members as listeners.
In the first six years of the Forum, numerous initiatives have taken place: working tables, assemblies, lessons, refresher courses, meetings with professionals. Over 300 journalists have been involved to date, from those of major newspapers to those of webzines, up to radio and TV. A unique opportunity to address the central themes of today's music journalism from many points of view: the risk of extinction, the new role, the lack of space, the interaction between different media and much more.
