Possibly less effective, but no health risk' (Vaccinated with expired Pfizer dose: it happened in France, in the Loire department, where a batch of 260 vaccines against coronavirus were administered after the expiry date.

Initially revealed by Radio France Bleu, the news was confirmed by the Regional Health Agency (ARS) Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes (Aura).

Thawed in August, this batch had to be used within 30 days but there were exceedances of between two and sixteen days, according to the same source.

"The national health authorities, the National Agency for Drug Safety and the Orientation Council for the Vaccination Strategy have told us that to date there is no risk identified for people who have received this vaccine, in terms of health”, assured France Presse Cécilia Haas, cabinet director of ARS Aura. “The effectiveness of the active ingredientor – he added – is possibly less good. That's why we contacted the health actors so that the people involved are notified."
