A party and a journalistic contest to remember Giancarlo Siani, the journalist killed by the Camorra on the evening of 23 September 1985.
Monday 20 September 2021, on the occasion of Siani's 62nd birthday, the volunteers of 'Against the Camorra' and of Radio Siani they organize an initiative in front of the headquarters of the historic daily newspaper The morning of Naples (at the foot of Torre Francesco, in the Centro Direzionale of Naples).
It is an opportunity to remember Giancarlo and his commitment through the articles and writings of those who participate in the contest.
Beyond the event “Happy Birthday Gianca'”, now in its tenth edition, the association 'Against the Camorra' and Radio Siani have launched “Giancarlo would write about“, a journalism contest open to all.
Become "Journalist Journalist for a day” is simple: just send, to ass.controlacamorra@gmail.com, by September 18, an article about a story of the Camorra, a news story or a story of social redemption. The three winning articles will be published on Il Mattino online and on RadioSiani.com on September 23, the anniversary of Giancarlo Siani's death.
“Happy Birthday Gianca'” is a real celebration because, as the activists of the association 'Against the Camorra' point out, Giancarlo continues to live and continues to be an example for those who believe in truth and legality because “He who fights for the truth never dies”. Volunteers and activists of the associations and citizens will remember, once again, Giancarlo, testifying the closeness of the entire city to his person, a symbol of tenacity and commitment.
