Agrigento. Young man commits suicide on the beach: his underage friend is under investigation.
The Public Prosecutor's Office at the Juvenile Court of Palermo has appointed the coroner Antonella Argo to try to shed light on the death of the young man from Nisseno Mirko Antonio La Mendola, 26 years old, from Caltanissetta who committed suicide with a gunshot, legally held for sporting use, on the evening of last August 25 on the beach of "Punta Grande" between Porto Empedocle and Realmonte in the province of Agrigento.
The hypothesis, followed by the prosecution, is that it was not La Mendola who shot but a friend of his, a minor, who was on the beach with him and who is under investigation. The young man is accused of the crime of "consensual murder", that is, he helped his friend to kill himself.

The autopsy on the body of the 26-year-old will be performed in the mortuary of the San Giovanni di Dio Hospital in Agrigento. In addition, samples will be taken, including toxicological ones, laboratory tests and photographic surveys. The victim's family members are assisted by the lawyer Rosario Didato and the doctor Nunzia Albano from Palermo has been appointed as the medical-legal consultant of the party.
Mendola - it was learned after the news of his death - would have committed suicide because he had not passed the police competition. Now the prosecutor wants to understand the role and possible responsibilities of the minor friend who was with him.
