Gragnano. Chef Alfonso Porpora, 40, resident in Agerola died today in a car accident along state road 268.
The man, like every morning, was going to work at the Leonessa PastaBar restaurant in Cis di Nola. For reasons that are still being ascertained, his motorcycle was hit head-on by a car traveling in the opposite direction, at the Scafati entrance of state road 268.
The impact was very violent and Alfonso Porpora flew off the motorcycle and crashed to the ground. Despite his helmet and jacket, the chef died instantly. When the emergency services arrived on the scene, the ambulance members could do nothing but confirm his death.
An investigation into the incident has been opened by the Carabinieri and coordinated by the Nocera Inferiore Prosecutor's Office. The man who was driving the car that hit the chef has been subjected to all the tests and we are waiting for the results and the autopsy to evaluate his position. Porpora leaves behind his wife and a small child. Social media have commented with sorrow on his passing.
