Manzoni High School in Caserta, and Maria Cristina Grillo, teacher and contact person for the Viaggio Libero project. Moderator: journalist Maria Beatrice Crisci. In addition, passages from the novel will be read by teacher Massimo Santoro. Author Giampiero Lisi will also be present.
Twenty-four-year-old Eleanor, an American from Baltimore, is about to graduate, preparing a thesis on the war intervention of the Allies in central and southern Italy during the Second World War. Having come to Italy in search of further details to complete her work, Eleanor brings with her two mysterious postcards from the past.
Piero is a young university student, he is in his last year of Medicine and has a dream: to go to America to specialize.
When Piero and Eleanor meet, in one of the most suggestive places in Rome, it seems that everything is the result of pure chance, it seems that that moment is just a pleasant link in the chain of time, which will continue to flow inexorably.
In reality, that time will not only touch their lives, but will deeply cross them, taking the two young people into unexplored territories, but at the same time firmly anchored to their past. Their history, their micro-history, will intertwine with great war events, but will retain the purity and dreamlike dimension of an adolescent bond. Piero and Eleanor will discover only at the end that they have been invested with a mission and, almost unconsciously, they will successfully complete it.
Their story is a journey into beauty: only by tying the thread of the story together can one grasp and admire the perfection of everything.
In this second novel that questions and questions us about the duration of love, beyond time and distance, the author continues to investigate the emotions of the human soul, telling stories in which everyone can find a piece of themselves.
