iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max Official: 120Hz and All-New Cameras
iPhone 13 Pro e iPhone 13 Pro Max they are official: Apple announced them during its California Streaming event, Tim Cook says that this year's Pro range is the one that differs most from the standard version we told you about just now; starting with the materials, with surgical stainless steel edges, all new cameras, a much larger battery and four color options – Graphite, Gold, Silver and the brand new Sierra Blue.
Philosophically, the Pro models follow the footsteps of the “regular” iPhone 13: the notch is smaller, the SoC is the new A15 Bionic, the internal design is more rational and therefore the battery is larger. On the iPhone 13 Pro (and Pro Max, of course). But there are several other details that are worth pointing out, first and foremost the arrival of ProMotion technology for the display. In a nutshell, this means: 120 Hz refresh rate (variable) and higher brightness, up to 1.000 nits peak. The screen diagonals remain the same as the previous year, which means 6,1 and 6,7 inches.
The three cameras are all new, Apple says, and represent the biggest advancement in the field yet. The layout is as follows:
- Main wide-angle: 12 MP, f/1,5 aperture, 1,9 micrometer pixels
- Telephoto: 77mm focal length, 3X optical zoom
- Ultra-wide angle: f/1,8 aperture, 6-element lens, macro mode for subjects as close as 2cm

All three cameras support night mode, and the next-generation Smart HDR technology now allows you to customize its effects with various photo profiles. On the video side, the “cinematic mode” arrives, with a change of focus point after the shot thanks to machine learning technologies, and the camera app offers the ProRes 4K30 mode.
Like on iPhone 13 and 13 Mini, Battery life should improve significantly compared to the previous generation: we're talking about 1,5 hours more for the iPhone 13 Pro than for the iPhone 12 Pro, and 2,5 hours more for the iPhone 13 Pro Max than for the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will be available for purchase in Italy starting this Friday, September 17, with shipments starting September 24. The base storage capacity has doubled to 128GB, and a whopping 1TB model will be available – very useful for those who want to use the very demanding ProRes 4K30 video intensively.
