The last event of the Cilento Music Festival, an artistic event conceived and directed by Lillo De Marco, will take place on Saturday 25 September in the natural amphitheatre of Laurino.
A concert not to be missed, part of the highly followed Italian tour, by Neapolitan saxophonist James Senese – with the historic band Napoli Centrale – in support of his latest album entitled “James Back” (Ala Bianca/Warner) and the documentary film “James” – by Andrea Della Monica – successfully presented at the 2020 Venice International Film Festival.
“In today's society – declares James Senese – It's become very difficult to make good prevail over evil, and even more complex to talk to people and try to make them understand what I think is the right path to their feelings. Everyone has their own beliefs, we're not all the same, and everyone builds their own world differently. But one of the main problems is that there are people with dominant ambitions. To make my latest album, I looked everywhere, to find a common voice that could touch people's hearts. It's a deeply painful album, but full of love, and it's precisely love that I seek in every moment of my life and my work. The work I've done has been to search for a single sound: that of truth, my blackness and whiteness... to be able to rediscover myself and my identity. They seem like songs, but they're above songs; they're a mirror of my life; in these songs you can hear the breath of my heart."
Regarding the final event of the entire event, which lasted about two months, the mayor of Laurino – and director of the Cilento National Park – Romano Gregorio stated: We were among the first municipalities to join the CMF 2021 project, managing, while adhering to the required health protocols, to organize other events (including the 19th edition of Laurino Jazz and many other shows between Laurino and the hamlet of Villa Littorio). Our community, along with the entire surrounding area, needed to be enlivened and encouraged—after this difficult period linked to the global health emergency—with important artistic events, just like this one by James Senese, always with a view to deseasonalizing tourist flows. We look forward to seeing you in Laurino for the whole day, not just for the concert, but also to visit the beautiful medieval village known as "the pearl of Calore." A treasure trove of hidden gems waiting to be rediscovered, with quality food and wine to savor, and so many architectural, natural, and cultural attractions to visit..
