Second appointment with Ra.ID Festival, the inter-regional contemporary dance festival: Friday September 10 from 20.00pm, we return to Monumental Cloister of S. Chiara from Solofra (AV) this time to attend “kiga" interpreted by Dance Construction Site di Hilde Grella; followed by a BorderlineDanza production, “DependEsports” by and with Antonio Formisano.

“Kigal” aims to interpret the vision not so much as a mere contemplative revelation, but as a journey, a dynamic and ecstatic experience that arises from the movement of the soul and the body, to find its realization in a tangible space/time dimension. The bibliographic and iconographic study relating to the different visions of the Underworld, from the Visio Tnugdali to the Dantesque one, have generated choreographic suggestions that ferry the spectator into a spatial dimension in continuous transformation.

The choreographies are by Hilde Grella, Cantiere Danza, an organization that was born as a choreographic laboratory with the intent of investigating movement in its expression in relation to itself and the outside world. Over time it has taken on its own specific identity, characterizing itself as a place of research whose results find concreteness in site-specific performance events, theatrical works, in which dance accompanies and completes the acting, and dance-only pieces.

At 20.45, DependEsports: on the border between well-being and the discomfort derived from the use of videogames, the performance tells the dark charm of virtual reality and the addiction it can generate. The aim is to propose a vision of the virtual dimension, in particular that of e-sports, highly competitive electronic sports, a reality considered by nerds or accompanied by often negative prejudices in the mass media vision.

Generators of pathological tendencies in adolescents, e-sports are a worldwide expanding phenomenon of great social impact, with potential that is still completely unexplored. Therefore, nothing excludes that they can be a useful tool for socialization between people.

After a year full of challenges, the Festival offers important innovations that aim to broaden the offer to an audience that has grown over the years. In particular, it pays attention to the relationship between artists, spectators and critics and proposes itself to the audience by adding three new sections to the canonical program: “We are Raid","Dance on video"and "We the critics/We the public".

The first project is an invitation to artists to make video-performative incursions into the places of the historic center of Solofra. The second is a video-dance section from which the best videos will be selected by the festivals partners of Ra.Id: the now historic film festival Shadow Line of Salerno, the festival Movement and Cam Cam/Dance for camera, under 35 dance video award Dance Movement. The third section is intended as a meeting between young critics in training and the public, which for each event aims to promote discussion on the representative shows.
