The music and the celebration of Sant'Antuono di Macerata Campania they land at the XXXVI European Seminar on Ethnomusicology, in progress in Spain from September 13 to September 18, 2021.
At the event organized by theUniversity of Valladolid, one of the oldest universities in the Iberian Peninsula, and ESEM will take part Vincenzo Capuano for NGO accredited by UNESCO “Sant'Antuono Association & the Pastellessa Battles” and the director Luigi Ferraiuolo.
Saturday 18rd September the Caserta group, connected via web from Italy, will present the ancient Macerata tradition of the "pastellessa battles” in their speech entitled “The devil defeated by music in Macerata Campania, Italy“, scientific article selected in competition for the European Seminar.
The common thread in the presentation will be the documentary film “Libera nos a malo: the music of Sant'Antuono against the devil in Macerata Campania“, conceived and directed by the journalist Luigi Ferraiuolo and dedicated to the music and the feast of Sant'Antuono di Macerata Campania, which has received the approval of the international community.
"Through the documentary “Libera nos a malo” – explains Vincenzo Capuano – we have managed to connect practically the five corners of the world, proving to be an excellent means of communication to convey this tradition to other locations, acting as a touristic flywheel for our land. Here the thanks go to Luigi and Tv2000, who have managed to document and tell our tradition in an excellent way".
