Procida, just over two months after the premature death of Free De Rienzo, is preparing to pay homage to the actor and director, who is particularly attached to the island, to the point of also supporting its candidacy for Italian Capital of Culture 2022.
Saturday 18rd September, starting at 19.00pm, “Woodpecker“, defined at the last Venice Film Festival as “inimitable rebellious genius of Italian cinema“, will be remembered by the family and the citizens of the island, together with the municipal administration, in the rooms of the monumental complex of Palace of Avalos, right where the actor conceived and created the film festival Artethica Procida Cinefest, with the involvement of many Procida craftsmen and talents.
The event, which has the moral patronage of the Municipality of Procida, will be attended – among others – by the journalist father Fiore De Rienzo, the set designer wife Marcella Mosca, the writers Giuseppina De Rienzo and Marco Ciriello. During the meeting, the film that symbolizes the actor's career will be screened, Fortapasc, Directed by Marco Risi.
