MontellaFor over 24 hours he has been barricaded in his house armed with a chainsaw in Montella, in the province of AVELLINO.
The man, a 32-year-old local, locked himself in the apartment on Via Colucci, where he lives alone, early yesterday morning after having gone on a rampage in the street and threatened several passers-by. The area has been cordoned off and is being patrolled by the Carabinieri and Fire Department.

The man exchanged a few words with the mediator sent by the force, but continued to threaten to use the chainsaw against anyone who tried to enter the house.
This is not the first time that the 32-year-old has been the protagonist of similar actions. In the recent past, the mayor of Montella, Rizieri Buonopane, signed two measures of compulsory medical treatment and involved social services in the case, but the man has always refused to undergo medical treatment.
