Naples . The trees along the avenues of the Cardarelli Hospital in Naples had been covered in concrete, as reported by some residents to Regional Councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli. This intervention is symbolic of how concrete is increasingly taking over greenery and how nature is held dear by so few.
“After receiving the report, we contacted the hospital management who admitted the mistake, and we appreciate it, and proceeded to free the trees thus saving them by hiring a company to remove the asphalt flows.
What worries us is that if we don't do it, no one will care about trees and greenery. Nature isn't an obstacle to cities and daily life; it doesn't need permission to intrude; it's its own world, and we are the ones who must live with it, respecting it." – commented Borrelli
