Napoli. This morning the unemployed of Cantiere 167 Scampia demonstrated “in front of what is to become the university center. Claiming the commitments made on the employment issue, we see as usual that all the candidates of this electoral round are speculating on the opening of the university, the jewel in the crown of this tormented territory.

Few people know that this process - they underline in a note - exists and continues thanks to the protagonism of the men and women of Scampia, who after 30 years of rubble wanted to fight for a decent home in place of the Vele and for the restoration of normality, imagining a neighborhood without concrete monsters but with places suitable for education and culture". The birth of the university "comes from the sacrosanct struggles that over the years have led us to dream of a better neighborhood.

It is in this context that we ask that the social clause for which we have fought so hard be respected. We appeal to all mayoral candidates and all institutions, we will not give anyone any discounts if there are no employment responses for the unemployed. Reports and repression will not stop our fight. You will always find us in our places, for a free territory and a better life”, concludes the note.
