The election campaign hasn't even begun in Naples yet, and already the political fireworks are going off. The center-right candidate Catello Maresca loses 4 supporting lists while Alexandra Clement, De Magistris' heir loses one.

The prosecutor on leave loses the two civic lists that directly refer to him, catello Maresca Mayor Catello Maresca, the list Animal rights party, four-legged movement, and the list First Naples-League which reports directly to Matteo Salvini. One of the three lists supporting Alessandra Clemente was also excluded, the coalition 'Alessandra Clemente Mayor'.

The decision was motivated by a formal defect found in the presentation. “We are working on the appeal that we will present to the TAR as soon as possible and we are confident of a positive outcome,” Clemente explained.

The appeal is ready; the list was penalized for submitting the candidate lists one minute late. We are confident that the judiciary will have the tools and will be able to assess what happened and, therefore, will be able to determine that our delegates were already inside the building before the deadline. The exclusion of a key list of the center-right coalition supporting Catello Maresca's mayoral candidacy would, after all, be a serious violation., explained the regional and city coordinators of the League, Valentino Grant and Severino Nappi.

"We were notified of the exclusion of the Catello Maresca Mayor and Catello Maresca lists. I hoped reason and logic would prevail. Now the lawyers are working on it, and we will assert our rights and the democratic rights of the voters.". So' Catello Maresca, the center-right candidate for mayor of Naples, has announced that the prefect's commission has excluded his two civic lists for the municipality.
