In fact, as reported by a citizen to the Regional Councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli, several cars (some vehicles in general) would enter the area closed to vehicular traffic, hiding their license plates so as not to receive the administrative fine.

"It's an issue we've been dealing with for some time now. In Marechiaro, as well as in other ZTLs and pedestrian areas of the city such as Nisida, the phenomenon of hiding license plates, sometimes covered with anti-covid masks, is spreading. We need to take action and plan for more checks at the gates.

A few weeks ago we set up an Observatory on hidden license plates through which citizens can report to us all those vehicles whose license plates are covered, by masks or other means, in order to be able to cross the ZTL and pedestrian areas with impunity, or, even worse, to be able to commit crimes. We ask the police to pay maximum attention and to intervene in a more direct and immediate manner, to identify those who break the rules and/or commit crimes”, the Councilor commented Borrelli and the radio host of La Radiazza Gianni Simioli.
