Napoli. The appearance of some posters with blasphemous messages and curses, often accompanied by images such as Mickey Mouse, Disneyland or that recall well-known advertisements such as that of Crodino, is causing much discussion in NAPLES.
The posters, the work of artists who exhibited their works in the exhibition “Ceci n'est pas un blasphème”, an arts festival “for freedom of expression against religious censorship” taking place at the Palazzo delle Arti in NAPLES from 17 to 30 September. The event is sponsored by the Municipality of NAPLES and the premises on the first floor of the Pan were granted by the Department of Education, Culture and Tourism as “co-promoter of the initiative”.
Councilor Annamaria Palmieri, holder of the delegations, assures Adnkronos: "The posters will be removed because they are abusive, we did not authorize them. Napoliservizi will take care of removing them, as with all abusive posters regardless of their object".
Regarding the exhibition, Palmieri explains that "it is an exhibition on freedom of expression and the Municipality has never censored anyone. It is about strong content, particularly provocative and strongly satirical, therefore - he underlines - it was prescribed that a notice be placed at the entrance advising against a non-adult and aware public".
