NapoliYesterday morning, officers from the San Carlo Arena Police Station, while passing through Via Miano, noticed four people busy pouring fuel into the underground tank of a distributor through a rubber hose connected to a tank hidden in a van.
The police stopped them while an accomplice, in a car, attempted to drive away to evade control but, thanks to the intervention of two police cars from the General Prevention Office, was blocked; furthermore, shortly afterwards, the owner of the service station arrived and the operators ascertained that the petroleum product did not have suitable accompanying documentation.
The six men, Neapolitans aged between 26 and 68, five of whom have police records, were reported for fuel smuggling and failure to pay excise duty on mineral oils; finally, the distribution system, the vehicle and the tank with 3600 liters of fuel were seized.
