The now-famous straw-paper cone, which reinterprets traditional Neapolitan recipes with a gourmet twist, offering fried meat and seafood specialties, has launched an equity crowdfunding campaign to support its ambitious growth plan, which includes the opening of 23 directly operated locations, 15 franchise locations, and a possible listing on the AIM market over the next five years.

Born (in 2013) and raised in via San Biagio dei Librai, better known as Spaccanapoli, a few meters from San Gregorio Armeno, the street of nativity scenes, Il Cuoppo – Friggitori Napoletani immediately based its offer, focused mainly on take-away and home deliveries, on the quality of the raw materials – starting from the high oleic sunflower oil used for frying, rich in vitamin E and antioxidants, capable of reducing blood cholesterol levels – combined with a strong architectural characterization of the format and a fast and efficient service. Elements that earned it inclusion in the Gambero Rosso Guide 2021, dedicated to the best Italian street food venues.

The company, which has formed strategic alliances with operators such as Marr, a leader in Foodservice distribution, belonging to the Cremonini Group, and The Loops, an audiovisual communication company with clients such as Kimbo, Atitech and Optima Italia in its portfolio, estimates that it will reach 2025 million in consolidated turnover in 13,9, with an Ebitda of 26% (in 2019 the turnover was 361 thousand euros, in 2020, the year in which the store was open for only five months, due to the pandemic, it reached 200 thousand euros, with a projected increase of 30% and in July and August 2021 revenues increased by 60% and 20% respectively). To date, 270 thousand customers have been served, with a goal of over 1 million by 2023.

According to the 1st National Observatory on the Take-Away Market by Gfk Eurisko, take-away food, far from being a temporary trend dictated by the epidemic, but rather a long-lasting phenomenon, destined to establish itself in global eating habits, was worth 2020 billion in Italy in 5,5 (706 million is the value of Food Delivery, with a growth of 2019% on 19 according to the Observatory of the Polytechnic of Milan and Netcomm).

The funds raised in the equity crowdfunding campaign - ongoing on CrowdFundMe until the end of November and which has already exceeded the first economic goal of 200 thousand euros - will be used by Il Cuoppo Holding to open two production centers, in Milan and Naples, to serve both direct and franchised locations and large-scale distribution, purchase machinery and 4.0 software for full control of the various production phases and related processes, inaugurate direct locations in the main cities with a tourist vocation in the next five years: Milan, Rome, Venice, Florence, Barcelona, Berlin, Paris and start marketing and communication activities to support the development and consolidation of the brand on the domestic market, first and then abroad.
