For several days and nights, some representatives of the non-seller of Colosimo, led by Nunzio Torre, have been carrying out a protest by occupying the institute.
The protest began with the occupation of the administrative rooms and then spread to the entire institute after not receiving any signals from the Campania Regional Authority.
The movement of the blind is motivated by the decision of Sauie srl, the company owned by the Campania Region that manages a large part of the assets of the school for the blind, not to accept a large number of requests for enrollment at the institute.
“Many applications have been rejected because they came from people and children who are not undertaking an education path but this is a real injustice, the workshops and recreational activities proposed at Colosimo are of fundamental importance for blind or partially sighted people” – explains Torre- “the rules of the tender have been bypassed at their convenience. Our protest will continue to the bitter end until we get what is right. We do not want answers but facts, enough with the chatter, all applications for registration must be accepted.”.
"We will try to find a quick solution to this matter by involving the various figures proposed by the Region. For this reason we have already alerted the regional councilor for education Lucia Fortini. We believe that this is a violation of the rights of the blind and we are not going to let it slide. We will do everything to find a satisfactory solution for these people who must not be left alone." declared the Regional Councilor of Europa Verde Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
