The 47-year-old worker from Maddaloni who died this morning after being hit by a truck on the A14 Bologna-Taranto motorway, a few kilometers from the San Severo toll booth, in the Foggia area, was dead.

The man was preparing signs for the opening of a construction site for the installation of rumble strips on the side edge of the roadway when he was hit. The accident also involved two other workers: one was slightly bruised and refused medical attention, the other is unharmed. From what we learn, the victim worked for the company Edil San Felice di Nola (Naples), a subcontractor of Autostrade.

He was hit by a truck driven by a truck driver from the province of Brindisi. The driver of the heavy vehicle stopped to provide assistance. The 47-year-old - according to an initial reconstruction of the incident - was crushed between the truck that hit him and the truck of the company he worked for.

There was nothing that could be done for him. The Highway Police officers are operating on site, coordinated in the investigation by the prosecutor of the Foggia prosecutor's office Oriana Tantimonaco. The men of the Workplace Prevention and Safety Service (Spesal) also arrived at the scene of the accident. The man leaves behind his wife and two children.
