Mozartian Matinèe of the Caserta Chamber Orchestra

On the occasion of the European Heritage Days, Sunday 26 September 2021 at 11,15 am, the Palatine Chapel of the Royal Palace of Caserta will host the preview of Autumn Music 2021, an event created as part of the participatory valorization plan of the Vanvitellian Site.

A lively “Mozart matinée” is scheduled with the Caserta Chamber Orchestra conducted by Antonino Cascio and featuring violinist Maria Solozobova and the piano duo Marco Sollini and Salvatore Barbatano. Pieces by Mozart will be performed: Symphony No. 10 KV 74, Concerto No. 5 for violin and orchestra KV 219 and Concerto for two pianos and orchestra KV 365.

The concert is a co-production of the Caserta Chamber Orchestra and Armonie della Sera / International Music Festival and will be repeated on Monday 27 September at 21 pm at the “Vaccaj” Theatre in Tolentino (MC).

Chamber Orchestra of Caserta

He has collaborated, among others, with Severino Gazzelloni, Pierre Pierlot, Gervase de Peyer, Maxence Larrieu, Jorg Demus, Lya De Barberiis, Mario Ancillotti, Edward H. Tarr, Peter Lukas Graf, Rodolfo Bonucci, Bruno Canino, Michele Campanella, Massimiliano Damerini, Cristiano Rossi, Andras Adorjan, Susan Milan, Claudia Antonelli, Alain Meunier, Paolo Bordoni, Rocco Filippini, Alexei Volodin, Herbert Schuch, Sir James Galway, Xavier de Maistre, Sergey Nakariakov. He has performed unpublished works by da Capua, Sacchini, Sarro, Jommelli, Anfossi and Viotti. He has held concerts in Italy and abroad – Cantelli Festival, Paganini Festival, Vienna, Salzburg / Mozarteum, Bratislava / Philharmonic – and has aroused flattering praise: “… philologically impeccable interpretations … free from those extremisms .. passed off as adherence to the original…”, “… fantasy in the creation of timbre and in the interpretation…”, “… the musical event has experienced moments of sincere tension in an always conscious reading, the fruit of meticulously constructed work..” “… an interpretative life of composed elegance…” “… the orchestra and its conductor have rendered with fresh spontaneity the symphonies of Rinaldo da Capua and Antonio Sacchini…” “… careful to restore to the listener the sober elegance of a writing in delicate balance between Baroque and Classical Style…” “… sincerely convincing for its cleanliness, discretion and musicality…” The founder and conductor of the Orchestra is Antonino Cascio, who studied PIANO with Roberto Daina, Composition with Antonio Ferdinandi and Conducting with Nicola Samale, Massimo Pradella, Franco Ferrara, Lucacs Ervin and Karl Osterreicher. With the Caserta Chamber Orchestra, which he founded and with which he mainly performs concerts, he has collaborated with well-known soloists, has participated in important festivals and concert seasons in Italy and abroad and has proposed programs linked to his research activity. He has collaborated with other orchestras, including the Prague Collegium, the Orchestra of the National Theatre and the Prague Conservatory, the Gustav Mahler Ensemble Wien, the Romanian Radio and Television Orchestra and the Zagreb Chamber Orchestra. He is the artistic director of the Autunno Musicale di Caserta and a teacher at the San Pietro a Majella Conservatory of Music in Naples.

Maria Solozobova

She studied in Moscow at the Gnessin School of Music and the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, graduating with honors, and perfected her skills at the Hochschule in Zurich with Zakhar Bron and in Basel with Raphael Oleg. Awarded at several international competitions – Johannes Brahms in Austria, Mozart in Zurich, Tibor Varga in Sion and Rodolfo Lipizer in Gorizia -, she has toured in various countries – Taiwan, Japan, South Africa, Argentina, United States, Norway, Austria, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Spain, Cyprus, Turkey, Slovenia, Romania and Russia -, playing in prestigious halls including the Tonhalle in Zurich, the Stadtcasino Basel, the Victoria Hall in Geneva, the Berliner Philharmonie, the Koelner Philharmonie, the Great Hall of the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, the Konzerthaus in Vienna and the Philharmonic in Ljubljana. Conducted by Vladimir Spivakov, David Zinman, Vladimir Fedoseyev, Vladimir Jurowski, Daniel Raiskin, Muhai Tang, Peter Csaba, Howard Griffiths and Michael Hofstetter, she has performed with various orchestras – Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra, Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra, Wuerttembergische Philharmonie, Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra, Basel Symphony Orchestra, Lucerne Festival Strings, Zurich Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Zurich, Zurich Symphony Orchestra, Geneva Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, Ljubljana Philharmonic Orchestra, Romanian Philharmonic Orchestra, Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, Moscow Chamber Orchestra and Moscow Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra. She has recorded for Antes and Sony Classical, teaches at the Hochschule Lausanne and plays a 1728 Nicolò Gagliano violin.

Marco Sollini & Salvatore Barbatano

Formed in 2004 by the meeting of Marco Sollini – a pianist with a rich international career as a soloist and chamber musician, with collaborations with renowned artists such as Bruno Canino, Antonio Ballista, Alain Meunier, Paola Pitagora, Elena Zaniboni, Quartetto della Scala – and Salvatore Barbatano – a young pianist who has already distinguished himself for his brilliant technique combined with a deep sensitivity -, the Duo has held concerts in important contexts – Schouwburg Festival in Jakarta, International Music Festival in Santorini, Oslo Philharmonic, the Kursaal in Bad Wildbad, Interfest in Bitola, the Kamerfest in Pristhina, Teatro Politeama Garibaldi in Palermo, Italian Cultural Institute in Budapest, Sala Preporodna in Zagreb, Baroque Festival in La Valletta. It has recorded music by Cilea, Leoncavallo and Mascagni for Vatican Radio – also broadcast by Euro radio – as well as for Rai – Radio tre. For Amadeus he has recorded Bach and Mozart concertos with the Orchestra delle Marche conducted by Francesco d'Avalos and I Solisti Veneti by Claudio Scimone; for Concerto – Music Media, the complete compositions for piano four hands by Sergey Rachmaninov – awarded five stars by Amadeus -, the piano works by Pietro Mascagni and chamber music by Rossini together with soloists of the Orchestra del Teatro alla Scala, as well as concertos by Mozart and Poulenc. Among the countless compositions dedicated to him, the Neapolitan Carnival and the Thousand and One Nights by Patrizio Marrone, the Allegro brutale con Pavana by Sergio Calligaris, the Suite Fermo – Immagine by Michele dall'Ongaro stand out.

Caserta – An unmissable opportunity for culture lovers: on Sunday, December 7, the Royal Palace of Caserta is participating in the Ministry of Culture's "Sunday at the Museum" initiative, offering free admission to the Vanvitelli Complex. The Royal Apartments and Royal Park are open to the public, while some areas, such as the Vanvitelli Rooms, the Amelio Room, and the Court Theater, will remain closed.
