The Municipality of Ottaviano has also joined the "From Sarno to Vesuvius" project, promoted by five municipalities in the Vesuvius area as part of the Campania Regional Plan 2014-2020, strategic line "Urban regeneration, tourism and cultural policies".
In addition to Ottaviano, in fact, there are also Poggiomarino, Boscoreale, Terzigno and Striano. The event includes network initiatives between the associated Municipalities, with the aim of giving the widest resonance to the tourist and cultural potential of the territory.
Specifically, as regards Ottaviano there will be guided tours and initiatives at the historically valuable churches of San Michele, San Francesco, San Giovanni and San Gennaro, at the Palazzo Mediceo, the San Francesco and San Gennarello squares and the Zabatta district.

With tourism and culture the entire area will be able to continue to grow in an adequate manner. A drug raid in Ottaviano, where Carabinieri from the local station, supported by officers from the Sarno dog unit, conducted a search of the home of a 43-year-old man already known to law enforcement. The operation resulted in the arrest of the man and the seizure of drugs and cash believed to be the proceeds of the illegal activity.
During the search, the Carabinieri officers found approximately 80 grams of cocaine, already divided and ready for sale, as well as €4 in cash. Scales and packaging materials were also seized from the apartment, supporting the hypothesis of a well-established drug dealing operation.
