"This recital is a world tour with real singer-songwriters – explains Pino De Vittorio – after a thousand years the “song” form has remained more or less the same as that used by the Troubadours since the 11th century: a simple melody that exalts a refined poetry, divided between verses and refrains, of short duration and great capacity to communicate emotions. Its secret is the union between verses and music and it has always fascinated great poets as well as great composers without barriers of language or nation. Reynaldo Hahn had come from Venezuela to Paris where he shared Proust's environment, and anticipated the following generations of authors such as Charles Trenet and Charles Dumont.”
