arcade. This issue had already caused discussion in recent months when the Municipality had decided to entrust, for a total of 160 thousand euros, the management of the waste paper bins located in the Portici area to an external company from Salerno.

Now, the 5 Star Movement reports, the same company will receive an additional 2.160 euros per month to empty the bins located inside Villa Mascolo, recently reopened to the public. To be precise, in the municipal structure, as can be seen from official documents, there are 11 240-liter bins and 9 street bins.

“Some time ago we reported that we spend 160 thousand euros to empty the waste paper bins, now the same company that was awarded the service will receive another 2.160 monthly – explains the 5 Star Movement -. We ask ourselves why spend all this money if finally, after our reports, the recipients of the citizen's income were employed to carry out socially useful work – continues the political force -.

In fact, currently, we have several recipients who work in the municipal villa, in the same villa Mascolo and in the ecological island of via Farina. But, apparently, we need an external company that comes from Salerno to empty the bins. We wonder why we cannot use the recipients of the citizen's income also for the waste paper bins".

In Portici, according to the latest estimates, there would be around 2.000 families that benefit from the citizen's income and therefore, it would not be a difficult task to summon personnel to carry out the work for which the Municipality has decided to summon an external company, which earns over 160 thousand euros. "This money could be used for services intended for the community - continues the 5 Star Movement - and at the same time the numerous income recipients could be engaged for the work currently entrusted to the external company. But this administration continues to be blind".
