The finalists of the 'Zavattini Award' have been announced

Announced at theItalian Pavilion, in the halls Tropicana ofHotel Excelsior of Venice Lido, the finalist projects of the sixth edition of the Zavattini Award selected by the jury chaired by producer Gregorio Paonessa and composed of director and screenwriter Mariangela Barbanente, editor and director Luca Gasparini, documentary maker Nathalie Giacobino and director Chiara Malta.

The finalist projects are: 'July Tale' by Andrea Gatopoulos (Rome); 'Pier Paolo's Childhood' by Alessandro Gattuso (Naples); 'Fighting Yourself' by Lorenzo Spinelli (Rome).

It's still: 'It was a house, very nice…' by Sara Parentini (Livorno); 'At home' by Giacomo Della Rocca (Perugia); 'The disappearance of your daughter' by Noah Leanti (Ravenna); 'Grivor' by Federica Quaini (Rome) and Viola Giulia Milocco (S.Daniele del Friuli, Udine); 'Blind love' by Elisa Baccolo (Inzago, Milan) and 'The rope' by Luca Bozzoli (Milan).

The jury also selected two projects by female authors who will be able to participate in the process as listeners: Ester by Lia Monguzzi (Rome) and Primula nera by Virginia Evi (Milan).

The authors of the selected projects will be able to participate in the training and development foreseen by the Award starting from September 18th at the Zavattini Hall of the Audiovisual Archive Foundation of the Workers’ and Democratic Movement (AAMOD), in Rome.

At the end, the same jury will select three winning projects among the finalists who, in addition to freely using the film material of the AAMOD, the Luce Historical Archive, Home Movies and other partner archives, will obtain free support services for the production of the short films and the sum of 2.000 euros for each project created.
