Archaeological discovery, sewerage works suspended in Sessa Aurunca

Archaeological discovery, construction site suspended in the Avezzano hamlet of Sessa Aurunca, where work is underway to redo the sewer system.

The closure was caused by the discovery of some historical finds. We are waiting for an inspection by representatives of the Superintendency to establish what exactly came to light. For now, a light-colored cobblestone, an amphora and a piece of wall.

From the testimonies collected it would seem to be a cistern of an ancient water conduit and the discovery of the amphora and part of a wall also suggests this. It can be assumed that they could be connecting conduits between the two bodies of water.
