The fire that destroyed a factory that produces and assembles auto parts in the industrial area of Carinaro-Teverola is under control, after hours of intense work by firefighters.
The flames caused the roof of the warehouse to collapse, producing a black cloud, almost certainly toxic, that spread over a very large area, visible from the cities of Naples and CASERTA. The firefighters, who arrived with four teams - one from the central headquarters of the CASERTA Command, two from the detachments of Aversa and Marcianise and a fourth from the Naples Command - and with two tankers, the self-protecting vehicle, the foam vehicle and the Nbcr unit (Nuclear, bacteriological, chemical and radiological), intervened immediately to contain the fire, and prevent it from spreading to nearby companies, including a car wrecker; the firefighters threw foam along the perimeter of the burning company.
After having contained the fire, the firefighters, using a ladder truck, began to throw foam from above towards the center of the warehouse, where the plastic material that makes up the spare parts for cars continues to burn; it will take several hours to completely put out the fire. The Judicial Police unit of the CASERTA Fire Department Command is also on site, and will have to carry out investigations to trace the causes of the fire, which are currently unknown.
