They bought the drugs in Secondigliano and sold them in Salerno through a very dense system of SMS orders.

Drug dealing network controlled by Carabinieri stopped “The Guys of Via Irno”, governed by the criminal Aniello Pietrofesa: 13 people ended up in prison and 10 under house arrest. The 23 recipients of the precautionary order, issued by the investigating judge of the court of Salerno at the conclusion of the investigations coordinated by the local DDA, are being investigated for criminal association aimed at the illicit trafficking of narcotics and related dealing.

The investigations, which lasted from early 2018 until August 2020, brought to light a criminal network active not only in the city of Salerno but also in the surrounding municipalities, dedicated to drug trafficking. cocaine, heroin and crack. A pyramid organization known as “The Guaglioni of Via Irno”, led by the criminal Aniello Pietrofesa, who, in several wiretaps, is defined as “chief promoter” or “chief of chiefs”.

The investigations led to the identification of a drug delivery organization, with real switchboard operators working in shifts with dedicated telephone numbers registered fictitiously to receive orders, arranging an appointment or even home delivery of the drugs. Furthermore, promotional text messages were sent to encourage the purchase of narcotics, especially for the group of buyers, mostly between 18 and 30 years old. The criminal group also employed three women who were involved in packaging, but also dealing and concealing narcotics or money.

According to the investigations, the gang's modus operandi did not suffer any setbacks even with the Covid-19 emergency. In addition to the frequent change of telephone numbers and coded language, the criminal group distinguished itself by its possession of a considerable fleet of cars and motorbikes, often supplemented by short-term rental vehicles to evade police checks.

The efficiency of the criminal structure is confirmed by the incredible size of the turnover: the various members of the group, on several occasions, report by telephone daily earnings that vary between 500-1000 euros each for the sale of cocaine, heroin and crack, with the price usually offered being 10 euros per dose.

A turnover so large that it led the members of the organization to make numerous trips to the neighborhood Secondigliano of Naples for the supply of drugs to be sold in the Salerno area, with an estimated revenue of over one million euros per year.

The group of the “Guaglioni di via Irno” – the Carabinieri informs – was also characterized by a system of mutual assistance for members who ended up in prison or with legal problems: Pietrofesa, in fact, took care of providing them with a trusted lawyer, as well as the money to pay the relevant fees, also giving advice on how to behave after being stopped by the police and placed at the disposal of the judiciary.

The entire activity led to numerous measures during the investigative phase: 10 arrests in flagrante delicto for dealing and possession for the purpose of dealing, two reports at large for the same crime, six administrative sanctions to users and the seizure of 30 grams of cocaine, approximately 320 grams of heroin and 23 grams of crack.
