San Giorgio a Cremano. A guided tour through the streets of the city retracing Massimo Troisi's favorite places, those of his childhood and youth. This is the latest initiative launched by the FreeCremano collective, and will take place on Sunday, September 26th, starting at 10:00 a.m. in Piazza Massimo Troisi.
Accompanied by the artist's longtime friend, Alfredo Cozzolino from San Giorgio, the tour will stop at the iconic locations where the celebrated actor was born, raised, and developed his cultural and artistic talent. Among the various stops on this "urban trek," a must-see is the "Centro Teatro Spazio," the first stage of "La Smorfia," which will open its doors for a guided tour for the occasion.
“Anyone, as a good ambassador of the collective heritage that Massimo left us as a legacy through his art, should know the history and places where the man, even before the artist, grew up and was formed”: declares Danilo Cascone, contact person for FreeCremano.
"Our city," continues the former city councilor, "is fortunate to radiate Massimo's presence in its streets and corners. This is only possible if we recognize the value of the places where the artist lived and keep their memory alive. Hence the idea for this guided tour, an alternative and unusual experience compared to those we've organized previously. Initiatives like these are aimed primarily at the citizens of San Giorgio, with the primary goal of promoting a local identity through understanding their roots."
And finally, FreeCremano thanks those who contributed to the initiative: "On behalf of the group I'm honored to represent, I extend my thanks to Alfredo Cozzolino. Thanks to him, who made himself available to accompany us on this tour, we'll be able to delve into Massimo's daily life, but above all, into the human story of a strong friendship between two suburban boys.
Finally, I would like to thank Vincenzo Borrelli, who immediately grasped the spirit of our initiative by opening the doors of his theatre, the Centro Teatro Spazio, to us.”
The tour is free to participate, however telephone reservation is required. All information can be found on the FreeCremano Facebook page.
The investigation into the sudden kidnapping last April of the minor son of San Giorgio a Cremano businessman Pino Maddaluno has opened two new lines of inquiry. One concerns the alleged connections with local politicians, including prominent ones, of Renato Franco, 28, identified as a man close to the Aprea clan of Barra. The man…
Naples – "If the police find me, you won't find your son." It's a descent into hell that lasts hours, punctuated by the agonizing rhythm of text messages on a cell phone. Written in black and white, the death threats and the demand for an exorbitant ransom: one and a half million euros to reunite a boy of just…
NAPLES – The Circumvesuviana is shut down for construction. On Sunday, November 16, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, the railway line between San Giorgio a Cremano and Torre del Greco will be completely closed to allow for the installation of the new overpass at the Ercolano station, part of the redevelopment project included in the "Smart Station" program. The project, financed with FCS 2014/2020 funds for a total of €28 million, aims to modernize the entire network and improve station accessibility.
The construction of the overpass—which will replace the current underpass—requires the use of heavy-duty machinery and the work must be carried out safely and in daylight. For this reason, EAV has decided to concentrate the closure in the early afternoon, a time slot considered to have low traffic demand.
