Santa Maria Capua Vetere. This is what happened inside the Uccella prison: the victim was a volunteer nurse, the perpetrator was an inmate from the Caserta prison.
The complaint of Cgil Public Function of Caserta: "Unfortunately - reads a note – the exasperation, the incivility and, in some cases, the criminal mentality of some prisoners, worsens the already serious situation in which the Campania healthcare workers find themselves having to operate. What happened is unjustifiable. No form of violence can be accepted, especially towards those who carry out their duty in this sector”.
“These are shameful gestures – concludes the note – a sign of cowardice and baseness towards a colleague intent on carrying out her duty. We are disturbed and exasperated by these episodes of gratuitous violence that workers in the sector are forced to endure. We will do everything in our power to prevent them from happening again”.
