Nine Napoli fans were arrested yesterday in Leicester for a brawl that broke out in the afternoon, before Napoli's debut in the Europa League.
The police of the Leicestershire confirmed that the nine supporters are still in custody awaiting trial. A Leicester fan was also arrested following the clashes which took place at around 18pm local time in the Millstone Lane area and is also still in custody.
During the tumultuous pre-match two more fans, an Italian and an Englishman, were stopped and charged with having uttered racist insults. Contrary to what was reported by some local press, on the other hand, the police denied having intervened with arrests at the end of the match, following the clashes that broke out in the sector hosting the approximately 500 Neapolitan fans arrived in England.
