Salerno. 'Virtuous' school staff in the province of Salerno: 90% show up on the first day of the 2021/2022 school year with an active Green Pass.
This is the estimate released by the Flc Cgil of Salerno which is monitoring the implementation of the Covid-19 safety protocol in provincial schools.
“The premises are good – says Clara Lodomini, provincial general secretary of Flc Cgil – to face the 2021/2022 school year with serenity. The teaching and non-teaching staff in service in our institutes demonstrate a great sense of responsibility, the best wishes for facing this third 'pandemic' year”.
However, the assignment of chairs and positions to teachers is off to a difficult start. Hundreds of appeals have been presented in recent days and numerous reports have been received by the Flc Cgil of Salerno.
“We have had the opportunity to note that there have been many errors in the assignment of positions, which have generated confusion and enormous discomfort for teachers,” says the provincial secretary. “There are hundreds of appeals filed by teachers who have been overtaken by colleagues who are in a lower bracket or with a lower score. Furthermore, in the assignment of teaching positions, many teachers have been assigned two or more parts of the position in schools that are, in some cases, even 75-80 kilometers apart. And this has forced many teachers to ask the Headmasters for part-time work. These requests certainly cannot all be processed due to the saturation of the provincial part-time quota.”
The inconveniences and the “malfunctioning” of the Provincial School Office will affect the start of the school year. “Many managers complain about the difficulty in communicating with the USP and are very afraid of not being able to have, at the start of the school year, the coverage of all the necessary chairs and positions – continues Clara Lodomini -. An organizational suffering that will affect the students and the proper functioning of the school in the province of Salerno that is trying to leave behind the bad experience of Dad”.
Meanwhile, yesterday the USR Campania published the decree assigning additional resources for Covid staff to schools with at least five classes, so-called 'henhouses', with more than 26 students in primary and lower secondary schools and 27 students in upper secondary schools.
"Unfortunately, the activation of additional temporary assignments to teaching staff is only planned until December 30 - concludes the provincial secretary of the Flc Cgil, Clara Lodomini - and does not include coverage for nursery school, which would also require greater attention for the need to protect children in the 3/6 age group and would allow parents to entrust their children to the school without any worries. We need interventions to define the staffing that can reverse the trend and bring back to the school the resources needed to raise its quality.
For Flc Cgil, the opening of the school year will be characterized by important moments of mobilization and struggle aimed at demanding not only the correct application of the Safety Protocol, but also extraordinary additional resources in the next Budget Law aimed at addressing the precarious employment emergency and the renewal of the national employment contract, starting from the salary issue.
