Irregularities at a livestock farm in Cancello ed Arnone. This was revealed during an inspection by a delegation from the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into Working Conditions in Italy, Exploitation, and Safety in Public and Private Workplaces, carried out in coordination with the Labor Inspectorate, the Carabinieri for Labor Protection (Nil), and the local Carabinieri for Health Protection (Nas).

During the checks, illicit profiles emerged, even from a hygienic point of view, to the point that it was necessary to seize the structure. This was announced by the Commission itself, which carried out inspections in three agricultural companies with the aim of investigating the issues relating to the exploitation of workers in agriculture, with particular regard to the phenomenon of gangmastering.

The delegation, led by the President, Gianclaudio Bressa, and composed of Senators Iunio Valerio Romano, Fulvia Michela Caligiuri, Ugo Grassi and Sandro Ruotolo, then continued its activity at the Fernandes Center in Castel Volturno where the Prefect of Caserta and Extraordinary Commissioner for Castel Volturno, Raffaele Ruberto, and the Director of the Center, Antonio Casale, were heard. The parliamentary delegation also had the opportunity to hear representatives of the various associations that are part of the “Rete Castel Volturno solidale” and to acquire the testimony of several foreign workers who have been victims of exploitation.
