This morning, at the Grand Hotel Santa Lucia in Naples, the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, met with a large delegation of biologists from Campania. During the meeting, the critical issues of biologists working in analysis laboratories and environmental and nutritional biologists were presented. The inaugural address was given by the President of the National Order of Biologists, Vincenzo D'Anna, who thanked the Minister for the attention and availability shown so far towards the category and for the legislative measures adopted.

The Minister reiterated the essential role of biologists in the National Health System, also demonstrated during the Covid-19 crisis. He clearly expressed the idea that it is necessary to reconcile all the needs of those who work in both public and accredited facilities. He announced that the allocation of 70 million euros destined for the creation of the Hubs regarding the reorganization of the laboratory network will soon be made available to the regions. "This is not the season for cuts for any sector, including that concerning the remuneration rates for specialist services and the new LEA", he said.

He accepted the requests of the President of the Onb regarding the reintroduction of the amendment to the law to allow researchers and PhDs access to the Register without a State exam. Finally, the renewed willingness to work together to resolve further unresolved issues (specializations and scholarships for non-physicians) was expressed.
