More successes for “The Tulip That Bloomed in the Snow” by Susy Vizzo,
Coming soon with a new work
Even today, almost three years after the release of the first volume and more than two and a half years after the publication of the second, The Tulip That Bloomed in the Snow by Susy Vizzo, published with Eclypsed Word Publishing for the Artemis series (First works by new authors), is still being talked about.
The author tells her readers about a seemingly impossible love, capable of becoming so powerful that it can subvert the very fate of the protagonists' lives. In the dark setting of a Germany during the Second World War, a love story begins, torn and tormented, between a Jewish girl and a soldier of the Wehrmacht, which will reach its climax in the horror of the concentration camps. The darker Edith and Aaron's world becomes, the more their love will shine, illuminating their path towards a surprising ending.
Now twenty-five years old, Susy Vizzo has found in writing the possibility to best express her emotions, to free the words that would have been lost orally and never understood.
“The Tulip That Bloomed in the Snow is one of my most troubled stories – declared the young author. Many years of work and research to finally reach the conclusion of my most substantial work. Although it may seem like a war story, set in Nazi Germany during the Second World War, the tulip that bloomed in the snow is actually a hymn to life, love and hope. It is a story that drags on through the war years, making the reader savor a pinch of that pain experienced by the protagonists as if in first person. And it is precisely that pain, and that totally pure and unconditional love, that will inevitably lead the reader to become fond of the characters and to hope, until the last line, that there may be a happy ending. That after so much suffering, after so many tribulations, there is something good beyond that blanket of blood, as if life had a debt to redeem with those who fought with every ounce of strength for what is right”.
“Susy Vizzo – said Eclypsed Word Publishing publisher Lele Zivillica – she is a young but promising writer. With simple language and an incisive narration she has managed to bring to life a potentially timeless and always current story.
Susy's novel is not a war story, nor a love story: it talks about how hatred, violence and madness are terrible and frightening forces, but forced to give in and shatter before the feeling of pure love.
For this reason, The Tulip That Bloomed in the Snow is a timeless and ever-present novel, because it speaks of a universal subject… and it does so very well.
We decided to divide the novel into two parts, for two reasons: one more practical and one editorial.
The most practical one is because the original novel exceeded a thousand pages and this brought us close to the technical limits of the printing presses.
Editorially, it seemed perfect to us to break the story into two parts, since there are two macro-geographic and temporal settings of the story. Following the natural flow of the narration, we decided to physically divide the novel at the point where the protagonists physically separate”.
It will be precisely the writer's feeling, combined with the peculiarities highlighted by the publisher himself and the difficult historical period we are living in, that will ensure that this work continues to attract the attention and recognition of readers over time, who will also soon see a new work by the author come out on the publishing market.
“Last year, during the quarantine period, I finally decided to write a story that had been buzzing around in my mind for too long and which is called We'll Meet Again One Day in April. It's about a girl haunted by a recurring dream that will obsess her to the point of making her investigate, dig so deep that she will discover something incredible, almost surreal, that will completely change her life. This is a very personal story, very heartfelt, it took me almost a year of work to complete it. I published it on a website for readers and writers and in a short time it managed to reach almost thirty-two thousand reads, with many appreciations from people of all ages. This moved me greatly, being a story totally different from many others, but still with numerous references to my previous novel The Tulip That Bloomed in the Snow”.
Volume 1: Volume XNUMX:
Berlin, 1942. A twenty-three-year-old Jewish girl, who has moved to Germany, will find herself in the midst of the horror of the Second World War. German soldiers hunt down Jews, deporting them to concentration camps and exterminating them one after the other. But in the midst of the chaos, she will meet the fascinating and mysterious Wehrmacht officer, Aaron Schwarz, who will turn everything upside down. She will thus find herself living a nightmare, but at the same time, one of the most unusual and sincere love stories that can be born in the prime of war. A love born of blood, an enemy love. A love that she will not even realize at first. A rare love, almost like a tulip that blooms in the snow, in a cold winter of war.
Volume 2: Volume XNUMX:
Berlin, 1943. Edith and Aaron, a Jewish girl and a young officer of the Wehrmacht, start a secret relationship in a world that seems to do nothing but oppose her and want to see them at all costs as rivals, as enemies. Despite their strong feelings, the war cannot help but overwhelm their lives. Aaron is sent to Paris with his contingent, while Edith remains waiting for news from him, in vain. When Aaron manages to return to Berlin, he will discover a terrible truth: Edith has been deported to the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp. Their love, once again, is opposed by the rampant madness of the Second World War, but Aaron is willing to do anything to reach Edith and try to protect her, just as she has always protected him.
Two lives destined to chase each other, destined to lose each other and then find each other again… in this life or another.
