Naples. Free ring road until December 31st at all toll booths between Capodimonte and Fuorigrotta.
The Naples ring road decided this, at the request and in agreement with the City of Naples, as agreed with the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility (MIMS). Given the ongoing closure of the Galleria Vittoria and with the reopening of schools, an increase in traffic is expected from this morning and for this reason an attempt has been made to take action.
The measure is written in a press release,“with a view to paying maximum attention to the needs of citizens” for this reason, a temporary exemption from the toll has been arranged, until 31 December, in the time slot 7.00-8.30, for the route only Capodimonte-Fuorigrotta and vice versa (and which include the tollbooths (of Fuorigrotta, Vomero, Camaldoli, Hospital Area, Arenella and Capodimonte) “for users having ownership”.
The decision “it concerns in particular users who need to reach the western area of the city and who, due to the closure of the Vittoria tunnel – where necessary consolidation works are underway, scheduled in compliance with the most recent sector regulations – are experiencing delays in reaching their locations and in view of the approaching reopening of schools which involves a physiological increase in vehicle traffic”.
HOW TO OBTAIN AN EXEMPTION
In order to benefit from the tariff concession, valid only for cars, it is necessary for those interested in the exemption to fill out a specific self-certification form to be sent electronically to the email address info@tangenzialedinapoli.it. To the owners of Telepass registered users will not be charged, or will be subsequently cancelled, the transits subject to exemption, while those who do not have systems electronic toll collection they will have to register the license plate number of their vehicle at the time of self-certification, by downloading the appropriate form from our website.
The passage must take place exclusively in the Telepass lane. The information and forms for activating exemptions are available on the Tangenziale di Napoli portal www.tangenzialedinapoli.it.
The regional councilor intervened on the matter Francesco Emilio Borrelli of Europa Verde who released a note together with the host of Radiazza, Gianni Simioli: “It is worrying to read that the exemption is already expected until December 31st while the works on the Vittoria tunnel should end on December 4th with relative reopening.

It is a signal, in our opinion, that testifies to the significant delays in the works that, despite the many announcements, are proceeding slowly and without having foreseen the repaving of the road section and the construction of new guard rails. From Wednesday 15 September the new 20-hour work shifts had been announced that were actually supposed to start on 4 August. We hope that there will be no new postponements”.

Borrelli and Simioli then also focus on the Tangenziale: “It is a first small signal in the direction of the Neapolitans by the Tangenziale which has given very little in all these years to the city compared to the hundreds of millions of euros it has collected and which have never been reused to improve the city's road system”.
