As part of the territorial control activities of the operation “Strade Sicure” of the “Campania” group of the Italian Army based on the “Guide” Cavalry Regiment (19th), 385 patrol services were ensured in the past week and the following operational results were recorded: 9 fires, 86 people identified of which 6 reported at large, 42 vehicles checked of which 6 seized.

In particular, on August 31, September 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5, 2021, the army intervened on the beginnings of fires with the subsequent arrival of the firefighters and police forces in the municipalities of Santa Maria La Fossa (Ce), Marcianise (Ce), Mondragone (Ce), Francolise (Ce), San Tammaro (Carditello locality) (Ce), Castel Volturno (Ce). Control activities were also carried out on the territory for the illegal dumping of waste, in the localities of Naples and Caserta, where they saw a dumping of waste in flagrante on August 31 and a discovery of an abandoned car on September 5 in the Municipality of Villa Literno (Ce).

During the week, fines totaling €1039,00 were imposed.
The monitoring and information research activity of the areas affected by the spills and the possible related activities continues, with the precious help of the Raven Squad of the Italian Army.

During the most significant operations of last week, the necessary judicial police support was ensured by the Municipal Police of Giugliano in Campania (Na), the Municipal Police of Villa Literno (Ce), the Carabinieri of Casal di Principe (Ce), the Carabinieri of Villa Literno (Ce), the Carabinieri of Mondragone (Ce), the Municipal Police of Castel Volturno (Ce), and the Municipal Police of Caivano (Na).

The activity is part of the "first and second level" actions (i.e. operated 24 hours a day by Army patrols or by mixed patrols with the support of local police or territorial Carabinieri garrisons) which are added to the weekly Action Days, according to the schedule defined by the Person in Charge of combating the phenomenon of fires in the Campania region within the Control Room of the "Land of Fires", always with the coordination of the Prefectures of Naples and Caserta.
