As part of the activities of repression and prevention of the illegal abandonment of waste from domestic, industrial and agricultural users, also aimed at illegal landfills, the "Campania" Group of the Italian Army based on the "Guide" Cavalry Regiment (19th), according to the directives established by the Person in Charge of combating the phenomenon of fires in the Campania region within the "Land of Fires" with the coordination of the Prefectures of Naples and Caserta, carried out an extraordinary control operation against illegal disposal and on the prevention of industrial, artisanal and commercial fires in the municipalities of Quarto and Giugliano.
On the morning of September 13, Italian Army crews, together with patrols from the Municipal Police of Parete and Vitulazio, carried out road checkpoints in their respective municipalities.
Specifically:
- Wall (Ce): 1 patrol of the Italian Army together with 1 patrol of the Municipal Police of Parete (Ce), carried out checkpoints achieving the following results: 5 people identified of which 2 sanctioned, 5 vehicles checked. At the end of the activity, fines were imposed for a total of €3.570,00.
- Vitulazio (CE): 1 patrol of the Italian Army together with 1 patrol of the Municipal Police of Vitulazio (Ce), carried out checkpoints achieving the following results: 4 people identified, 4 vehicles checked.
On the morning of September 14, approximately 1 crew of the Italian Army together with 1 patrol of the Municipal Police of Casandrino, carried out road checks, from the checks 8 people were identified, 2 of whom were fined, 5 vehicles were checked and, at the end of the joint activity, sanctions were imposed.
On the morning of September 15, Italian Army crews, together with patrols from the Municipal Police of Quarto and Giugliano, carried out checks at an illegal carpentry shop and road checkpoints in the respective municipalities.
Specifically:
- Giugliano (Na): 1 patrol of the Italian Army together with 1 patrol of the Municipal Police of Giugliano (Na), carried out checks at an illegal carpentry shop, fined, reported a person and seized 30 m2.912,00 of area. At the end of the activity, fines were imposed for a total of €XNUMX.
- Quarter (Na): 1 patrol of the Italian Army together with 1 patrol of the Municipal Police of Quarto (Na), carried out checkpoints achieving the following results: 5 people identified of which 1 sanctioned, 4 vehicles checked and sanctions imposed.
The activities are part of the “second level” actions (i.e. carried out by joint patrols of the Army and the municipal or metropolitan police forces) which are added to the weekly Action Days.
