Irreverent, ironic, sincere. “The Rossellinis"of Alessandro Rossellini, "Nastro d'Argento 2021 – Best Documentary on Cinema”, inaugurates the section Visionnaire21 dedicated to documentary cinema, Thursday September 9 21pm at the Terrazza degli Aranci at the Museo-FRaC Baronissi, in the presence of the author.
After the initial greetings and the screening of the documentary, the evening will continue with a meeting with director Alessandro Rossellini, in a direct debate with the audience who will have the opportunity to intervene with questions, reflections and suggestions.
In “The Rossellinis” (Italy, 2020 – Special Closing Event of the 35th International Critics’ Week at the 77th Venice International Film Festival 2020), the grandson of the great director Roberto Rossellini meets the members of his family to understand if they too are affected by a disease that he calls “rosselinite”: the cumbersome figure of his famous grandfather seems to have influenced, in fact, both professionally and privately, the existence of his children and grandchildren.

Roberto Rossellini he was a genius of cinema and a decidedly nonconformist father. His love affairs filled the front pages of newspapers all over the world, scandalizing the rigid morality of the 55s and giving birth to a large, proudly multiethnic and decidedly extended family. Alessandro, the first grandson of the great director, thus decides to shoot his first film at XNUMX, ironically tackling the Rossellini saga and forcing his relatives to an impossible family therapy in front of the camera.
