"While we work to make our Borgo more beautiful and welcoming - the stone-fenced community from which our "common home" originates - a young life has been broken and cancelled in the din of the movida. There will be those who ask for order, those who profess words of forgiveness, those who seek revenge, those who will think that it is normal in the madness of these years: in which despite the accumulated history we have not been able to defend our soul from the pandemic, as from the plague in past centuries. We hope that everyone understands that the only salvation from this madness is culture: told as stories, emotions, knowledge, travel, poetry, images and cinema and everything that makes us beautiful inside; and faith: in God or in our neighbor. The theme of the Casertavecchia book and culture festival in general this year is the symbolic image of the "Book Dealers", an evocative and contradictory theme: the drug dealer is an evil in himself in today's mentality, the one who sells books actually does good.

We had already chosen it last spring, with the aim of fighting alienation from life, especially among young people. It has become dramatically topical, we would have gladly done without it. Dealing books - adds the creator Luigi Ferraiuolo - means fighting addictions to every silly idea, promoting a straight back, traveling the world, and ultimately fighting violence. This is the reason why we immediately chose to dedicate the festival to the young Gennaro Leone".
