Camerota. The Kamaraton amphitheater in Camerota, in the Salerno area, is the target of vandals. The toilets, the electrical system, the tiles that serve as seats for spectators were damaged and the entrance gates were torn down and forced open. “About 270 seats destroyed,” reads a social media post by the Municipality.
The workers of the municipal maintenance team are already at work to restore the damage, also in view of an event that the amphitheater will host next weekend. "In Camerota - they recall from the municipal administration - in the past, schools and the playground have also been damaged several times. The garbage bins have been used to race through the streets of the town".
“It is sad that, in our communities that are small and still healthy and with certain values, certain unfortunate situations occur,” the mayor of Camerota, Mario Salvatore Scarpitta, told AGI. “What is sad is that, then, the community's money, small funds that have the institutions always in terrible difficulty, must be used to repair damage instead of being able to provide new opportunities for services and improve the structures,” he added.
