Vatican: from October 1st residents, workers and visitors will have to have the Green Pass

Starting October 1st, a Green Pass will be required to enter Vatican City. This is established by an ordinance issued by Cardinal Giuseppe Bertello, President of the Pontifical Commission for State.

The document, in addition to delegating control duties to the gendarmerie, explains that the provisions apply to all residents within the Leonine Walls, as well as "personnel serving, in any capacity, in the governorate of the Vatican City State and in the various bodies of the Roman Curia and related institutions, and to all visitors and users of services."

The only exception concerns those who "participate in liturgical celebrations for the time strictly necessary for the performance of the rite." In fact, the Holy See has established that all activities within its territory may only be carried out by those in possession of a Green Pass.
