A new meeting on the Whirlpool dispute has been set at the Ministry for next Thursday, September 23.
On that date, according to what has been learned, the consortium on sustainable mobility, for the reconversion of the Naples site, will be presented in detail by Invitalia and the Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Alessandra Todde.
The project was announced at the beginning of August. The collective dismissal procedure expires on September 29.
"We will remain in the tent until there is a concrete response. Our goal is to block the layoff procedure that will otherwise start at the end of the month". So at Dire Vincenzo Accurso, a worker at Whirlpool in Naples and RSU Uilm, who together with 200 other people is in Rome today, in front of the headquarters of the Ministry of Economic Development, in via Molise. The workers have set up nine tents and intend to “camp out indefinitely” also organizing shifts to continue the picket at the Mise.
"This discussion has been going on for 3 years, my face has never been missing on this dispute, I have always been there and I have never backed down. We have worked on a consortium that focuses on sustainable mobility that can manage the reabsorption of the workforce. It is clearly necessary for the company and the union to sit down at the table. But I have to say one thing: I would not want the message to pass that the government has not worked, it would be truly a great lack of respect", says Deputy Minister Todde on the Whirlpool dispute
