Runoff round for Benevento with the outgoing mayor, Clemente Mastella, who stopped at 49,33% of the preferences and Luigi Diego Perifano, who stood at 32,34%.
The former Minister of Justice is supported by ten centrist lists, while Perifano is the candidate of the Democratic Party.
With Mastella also Sannio Libero, a civic list wanted by men close to governor Vincenzo De Luca. The candidate of Lega and Fratelli d'Italia, Rosa De Stasio, stopped at 5%, behind even Angelo Moretti of the Greens.
