“Less than a week after the start of the new bike sharing service in Naples, we have already received dozens of reports of vandalized, hidden, defaced or destroyed bikes.
We believe that bike sharing is an important element for citizen mobility and a missing piece in our city. Seeing that these bikes, practically less than 24 hours after installation, have already been vandalized is a blow to the heart. Mobility is a serious issue throughout the region and finding alternative ways to get around, such as scooters or electric bikes, means finding solutions that look to the future, respectful of the environment and the city.
Less respectful are the thugs who, as far as we know, even under the incessant rain of the past few days, took the trouble to smash these bicycles. The same thing had already happened with the scooters, but for now the companies are still present in the city. Progress cannot be stopped by four scoundrels who have nothing better to do than kick and punch bikes, the Municipality and the Police should protect these companies that are providing a useful service to everyone”.
Thus the Regional Councilor of Europa Verde, Francesco Emilio Borrelli.
