Caivano. “Marching to ask that at least Antonio’s body be returned to the family. There are the relatives and the inhabitants of the Verde park, those who for the first time had the courage to expose themselves, but also the mayor of Caivano Enzo Falco and Don Patriciello. We must be at this family’s side, it is right that the institutions and the Church make their presence felt to this mother consumed by grief.

It is mandatory that in such marginalized and degraded realities the State be present in facts and not with slogans. Where there is poverty, marginalization, where ghettos arise, because such is the Green Park of Caivano, we must respond with facts. Because there are people who want to save themselves and they must be given a chance. Today in Caivano a seed was sown, a small part of residents took to the streets to stand against the sellers of death.

It's a start, we must insist. We must stand by Antonio's family, to defeat the criminal ferocity, it is forbidden to look the other way." This was said by Francesco Emilio Borrelli, regional councilor of Europa Verde who participated in the march on Saturday afternoon.

In recent days, Councilor Borrelli met with the young man's family. After returning to Caivano, at Parco Verde, Antonio began to frequent a family of drug dealers according to his mother's reconstructions. At home they realize the change and the new economic possibilities. His mother also reported him to the Carabinieri to try to protect him. But last Monday Antonio went out with some people, who are untraceable today, and disappeared into thin air. A case, apparently, of 'lupara bianca'.

Harmont & Blaine, 32 layoffs in Caivano: workers strike and protest

by Vincenzo Scarpa February 10, 2026 - 12:10 12:10

A day of strike action and demonstrations took place today in front of the Harmont & Blaine plant in Caivano, where workers are protesting the announcement of 32 layoffs out of a total workforce of 129. The protest was called by the sector unions Filctem-Cgil and Femca-Cisl, who described it as a sudden decision, lacking any prior consultation.

"We called this strike because we find the layoffs announced by the company unacceptable," says Andrea Pastore of the regional secretariat of Filctem Campania. "We consider it abnormal that a decision of this magnitude could be made overnight, without any consultation with the unions. A company with an international media profile cannot be so superficial in the presence of 32 workers, who represent 25% of the workforce. This is an unacceptable attempt to reduce labor costs. We demand the immediate withdrawal of the layoffs."
