State police arrested a man and a woman found in possession of 14 kilos of cocaine.
The two, aboard their car, were traveling north on the Autostrada del Sole, leaving from Calabria and heading towards Lombardy in the province of Milan, when between the provinces of Caserta and Frosinone, they were stopped for a police check by a patrol of the Highway Patrol.
According to Frosinone Today, during the document checks the officers noticed an unusual nervousness on the part of the vehicle's occupants and therefore decided to further investigate the documents and the vehicle, accompanying them to the barracks.
A careful inspection of the car revealed the presence of a cavity, specifically created inside the trunk and precisely in the wheel compartment.
Once the cover was removed, the agents found 12 well-packaged blocks, containing a total of 14 kilograms of cocaine, likely destined for the northern Italian market. The man and woman were arrested and taken to the Regina Coeli prison at the disposal of the Cassino Prosecutor's Office.
