The two "party candidates" in Caserta will face a runoff election: Carlo Marino, the outgoing mayor of the Democratic Party (PD) supported by the center-left, and Gianpiero Zinzi, a member of the League supported by the center-right.
There is a difference of about 2 thousand votes between the two. Marino is at 35,28% (over 13 thousand votes) while Zinzi is at 30,10% (over 11 thousand). Third is the former mayor Pio Del Gaudio with 12,92%%, closely followed by Romolo Vignola with 10,69%. As for the other candidates: Raffaele Giovine stopped at 8%, Errico Ronzo at 2,22% and Ciro Guerriero at 0,72%. The final turnout was 67,02%.
Both Vignola and Giovine should have their places assured in the City Council. Sixth and seventh are Errico Ronzo (863 votes equal to 2,2%) and Ciro Guerriero (280 preferences for 0,72%).(source: elezioni.interno.gov.it)
